Fun Food Festivals!

With television shows such as The Great British Bake Off, Masterchef and Come Dine With Me proving to be as popular as ever, the UK truly seems to be a nation of food fanatics! If you are a self-confessed foodie, why not head down to a food festival near you and discover new delicacies as well as classic favourites! Find new local businesses, restaurants and pick up some top tips as top chefs demonstrating their incredible skills. Of course, fun food  festivals are not just for the budding foodie – they are a great day out for the whole family with lots of fun to be had by all. We have put together a list of some of our favourite food festivals for you to enjoy throughout September.

The Great British Food Festival – Warwickshire
12th & 13th September

Set within the beautiful surroundings of Ragley House, your picnic blanket will have at least one more outing this year at The Great British Food Festival! Promising around 80 top local food and drink producers, foraging expeditions and children’s cookery classes this really is a fantastic day for everyone to enjoy. If you fancy giving Mary Berry a run for her money you can see how you fare in the Cake Off competition or conquer all by taking part in the Man V Food showdown!

Beaumaris Food Festival – Beaumaris
11th – 13th September

Enjoy a relaxing day out in beautiful Beaumaris, a wonderfully historic town on the banks of the Menai Strait. This festival is run completely by volunteers with all profits being donated to the Canolfan Beaumaris Leisure Centre for the benefit of the local community. The Beaumaris Food Festival kicks off with the ‘Friday Night Party’ which involves an evening of live music and entertainment. Saturday and Sunday has some real delights in store in the form of a varied line up of top chefs including Château Rhianfa‘s Andrew Sheridan. With Château Rhianfa fresh from having won the accolade of ‘Top Hotel Restaurant of the Year’, expect an array of wonderful delights created from the freshest, local ingredients!

Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival
19th & 20th September

Indulge in a truly spectacular weekend of exquisite delicacies at the Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival. This varied festival boasts a wide range of foods, wine and activities to suite every taste, whether you are a wine connoisseur, seafood enthusiast or simply looking to try something a little bit different. Live music completes the lively festival atmosphere making this an event to remember!

Thame Food Festival – Oxfordshire
26th September

Introduced in 2008, the Thame Food Festival has grown each year, with this year being bigger and as better than ever before! Pop along to the charming market town of Thame to celebrate the wealth of wonderful food producers, food retailers, chefs, food and drink experts, restaurants and cafes in the local area. ‘The Big Thame Bake’ features largely in this event and provides a great chance to showcase your baking skills as well as the opportunity to have your culinary delights judged by some of the biggest names in the food industry!

Malvern Autumn Show – Worcestershire
26th & 27th September

Embrace the changing of the season at Malvern’s Autumn Show, a celebration of the best seasonal foods, plants, crafts, animals and much more. Explore the food and drink hall with demonstrations from local chefs, take a break in the family friendly Cider Garden and then jump on the Westons dray ride and head on down to visit the World of Animals area which includes llama, sheep and many more. Should you wish to enjoy both days of this wonderful show, take the opportunity to stay the night at the beautiful Stanbrook Abbey. Renowned for incredible culinary delights continue your foodie adventures away from the festival!
